Although LSU lost their weekend SEC series against Mississippi State, two Tigers recieved national recognition.

Third baseman Tommy White and Friday night starting pitcher, Paul Skenes were named national players of the week by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper.

On Friday night, Skenes recorded a whopping 13 strikeouts and only allowed one run on three hits. Skenes pitched the entire game until LSU run-ruled Mississippi State.

This would be Skenes' first ever complete game and moves his record to 10-1 on the season.

Skenes' first season at LSU has him leading the nation in strikeouts so far this season, tallying 152 so far.

Sophomore transfer from NC State, Tommy White, had a dominant performance this weekend.

White went 11 for 18 at the plate within the past week. His batting average sits at .611, recording six runs, two HR's, four doubles and nine RBIs.

During the series versus Mississippi State, White batted a .571.

White currently sits in second place in the nation in RBIs, with 84 in 47 games.
