LIVE UPDATES: LSU Baseball vs. Georgia | Game One

The LSU Tigers took game one over the Georgia Bulldogs in twelve innings, 8-5.


Top First: Jarvis Evans pitching for Georgia. Gavin Dugas was first up to bat for the Tigers and drew a walk. Tre’ Morgan popped one up to center field, Dylan Crews struck out and Tommy White fouled out.


The Tigers had zero runs in the first inning.


Bottom First: Paul Skenes pitching for LSU. Ben Anderson was first up to bat for the Bulldogs and struck out. Charlie Condon hit a groundout to second base and Connor Tate hit a ground out to shortstop.


Three up and three down for the Bulldogs, score is 0-0.


Top Second: Evans is still pitching for UGA. Hayden Travinski up to bat and struck out, Cade Beloso also struck out. Jordan Thompson drew a walk, proceeded to steal second base and then stole third base. Thompson’s roommate, Brayden Jobert blasted a two-run homer to right field to allow the Tigers to gain the lead (2-0.) Alex Milazzo ended the inning with a fly out to center field.


The score is now 2-0 LSU.


Bottom Second: Skenes is still pitching for LSU. Parks Harber up at bat and struckout. Fernando Gonzalez hit a fly out to right field and so did Will David.


Yet again, three up and three down for the Bulldogs. Score is still 2-0 LSU.


Top Third: Evans still pitching for UGA. Dugas hits a fly out to right field, Tre’ Morgan proceeds with a single to right field. Crews hits a single to shortstop, allowing Morgan to advance to second. White with a fly out to right field, allows Morgan to advance to third. On a wild pitch Crews advances to second, Morgan out at home.


Score is still 2-0 LSU.


Bottom Third: Skenes is still on the mound. Sebastian Murillo bats a fly out to left field to start. Mason LaPlante strikes out, so does Justin Thomas.


After three, the score is still 2-0 LSU.


Top Fourth: Evans still on the mound. Travinski pops one up to second base, with Beloso hitting a single to right field following. Thompson draws a walk, allowing Beloso to advance to second. Jobert strikes out.


Pitching change: Nolan Crisp enters the game for Georgia.


Milazzo lines one out to first base.


Bottom Fourth: Skenes on the mound still, strikes out Anderson. Condon groundout to second base, Connor Tate draws a walk, Harber strikes out.


Still 2-0 LSU.


Top Fifth: Crisp continues on the mound. Dugas groundout to third, Morgan strikes out. Crews reaches first on an error, then steals second. White intentionally walked by UGA. Travinski groundout to second.


Score is still 2-0 LSU.


Bottom Fifth: Skenes continues on the mound. Gonzalez groundout to second. David solo home run to centerfield (2-1 LSU.) Murillo double to left center field. LaPlante singles to center field, Murillo scores (2-2.) Thomas and Anderson strikeout.


Score is now tied at 2-2.


Top Sixth: Crisp continues pitching for the Bulldogs. Beloso is up to bat and draws a walk. Thompson hits a fly out to left field. Jobert follows with a single to second base, Beloso advances to second. Milazzo grounds into a double play.


Still tied 2-2.


Bottom Sixth: Skenes prevails as the pitcher for the Tigers. Condon strikes out, but reaches first on a wild pitch from Skenes. Tate singles to center field, Condon advances to second. Skenes strikes out Harber. Gonzalez groundout, Condon advances to third, Tate advances to second. David hits a fly out to right.


Score is still 2-2.


Top Seventh: Pitching change for UGA as they bring in Leighton Finley.


Dugas strikes out, Morgan flies out to right field, Crews ground out to shortstop.


Three up and three down for the Tigers, 2-2.


Bottom Seventh: Skenes still pitching for the Purple and Gold. Murillo strikes out, LaPlant grounds out to shortstop, Thomas strikes out.


Still tied 2-2.


Top Eighth: Finley continues pitching for the Bulldogs. Travinski blasts a solo homer to left field (3-2 LSU.) Beloso strikes out. Thompson hits a bomb to right field for a solo homer (4-2 LSU.)


Pitching change: Collin Caldwell enters the game for Georgia.


Jobert singles to center field, following Milazzo strikes out.


LSU regains the lead 4-2.


Bottom Eighth: Riley Cooper relieves Skenes and is now the pitcher for the Tigers.


Cooper walks Anderson.


Pitching change: Thatcher Hurd enters the game for LSU.


Hurd strikes out Condon and walks Tate, which advances Anderson to second. Harber reaches first on fielder's choice, Tate out at second. Anderson advances to third. Gonzalez reaches second base on an error, Harber advances to third, Anderson scores.


David popped up to second base.


Score is now 4-3 LSU


Top Ninth: Dalton Rhadans is now pitching for UGA.


Dugas flies out to left field, Morgan lines out to third base.


Crews hits a missile to left field, increasing the Tigers lead (5-3.)


White flies out to left field.


Bottom Ninth: Hurd is still on the mound for the Tigers.


Murillo slams a solo homer to right field, score is now 5-4.


LaPlante grounds out to shortstop, Garrett Spikes is now pinch hitting for Thomas. Spikes hits a fly out to center field.


Anderson blasts one to right field for a solo home run (5-5.)


Condon with a groundout to shortstop.


Score is now tied again, 5-5.


Top Tenth: The game has now entered extra innings. Chandler Marsh is now pitching for Georgia.


Marsh strikes Travinski, Pearson and Thompson.


Three up and three down for the Tigers, still 5-5.


Bottom Tenth: Hurd still on the mound. Tate singles to center field, Harber grounds into a double play, Gonzalez strikes out.


Score still stuck at 5-5.


Top Eleventh: Marsh still on the mound for the Bulldogs. Jobert is hit by a pitch and advances to first. Milazzo’s sacrifice bunt advances Paxton Kling to second (pinch running for Jobert), Milazzo out at first. Ben Nippolt draws a walk and so does Morgan.


Bases are now loaded for the Purple and Gold.


Dylan Crews is at bat and strikes out.


Score is 5-5.


Bottom Eleventh: Hurd continues to pitch for the Bayou Bengals. David grounds out to shortstop, Murillo strikes out, LaPlante pops one up to Hurd.


Still 5-5.


Top Twelfth: Marsh continues to be on the mound. Travinski doubles to left center field and advances to third on a wild pitch.


Josh Pearson is now batting for the Tigers. Pearson blasts one for a two-run home run allowing the Tigers to regain the lead (7-5.)


Pitching change: Will Pearson enters the game for UGA.


Thompson hits a bomb to right field for a solo home run, advances the lead to 8-5.


Kling grounded out to shortstop, Milazzo flew out to right field, Nippolt single to right field. Morgan is hit by a pitch, Nippolt advances to second.


Dylan Crews strikes out again.


After a strong offensive inning for the Tigers, they lead 8-5.


Bottom Twelfth: Hurd is still on the mound for the final stretch of the game. Spikes groundout to second base, Anderson and Condon strikeout.


FINAL: LSU 8, UGA 5


The second game of the series will be played tomorrow, May 19, at 5:00 p.m. CT.
