LIVE UPDATES: LSU Baseball vs. Texas A&M | SEC Tournament Game Three

After a closely contested match, LSU's hopes in the SEC Tournament were dashed as they suffered a narrow 5-4 defeat against Texas A&M, leading to their elimination from the tournament.


LSU entrusted pitcher Ty Floyd to take the mound, hoping to reclaim their momentum in a crucial game against the Texas A&M Aggies.


However, the Tigers faced a setback as third baseman Tommy White was unexpectedly scratched from the lineup and listed as "day-to-day."


When questioned about White's absence, head coach Jay Johnson explained that White simply required a day off, suggesting it was a decision to give him some rest.

T1 - Crews steps up to the plate, he swings and sends the ball towards centerfield, but unfortunately, it's caught for an out. Next up is Morgan, who hits a ground ball towards pitcher Johnsonton, resulting in a routine play and an out. Hayden Travinski steps up to the plate shortly after, hoping to make a difference. However, he ends up striking out. (0-0)


B1 - Haas struck out by Floyd, Moss draws a walk. Werner reaches first base on a fielders choice, but results in Moss out at second. LaViolette is struck out by Floyd. (0-0)


T2 - Beloso is up to bat and hits a well-placed single into the right-center field, securing a base hit. Jones draws a walk, which advances Beloso to second. Dugas bats a fly out to center field, but puts Jones at second and Beloso at third. Jobert hits a RBI single to right field, which score Beloso and puts LSU on the board. Thompson draws a walk and Kling groundout to second base. (1-0 LSU)

B2 - Thompson blasts a double to left field. Targac follows with another double, scoring Thompson to put the Aggie's on the board. Bost groundouts to second base, but this allows Targac to advance to third. Minnich strikes out and Kaufer send a fly out to center field. (1-1)


T3 - Crews sends a single to third base. Morgan reaches first on catchers interference, which allows Crews to advance to second. Travinski pops one up to second base, but both Beloso and Jones follow with strike outs. (1-1)


B3 - Haas strikes out, both Moss and Werner hit fly outs to the field, resulting in three up and three down for the Aggies. (1-1)


T4 - Dugas blasts a double to left field, which is followed by an RBI single from Jobert which scores Dugas. After a balk from pitcher Johnston, Jobert advances to third. Thompson and Kling both strikeout and Crews is fouled out to first base (2-1 LSU)


B4 - LaViolettle hits a fly out to left field, Thompson hit by pitch. Targac strikes out, but Thompson successfully steals second. Bost bats a groundout to shortstop. (2-1 LSU)


T5 - Morgan starts this inning by drawing a walk. Travinski hits an RBI double which scores Morgan. Beloso blasts a single to right field, which advances Travinski to third. Jones strikes out. Dugas reaches first on fielders choice, which advances Beloso to second but Travinski gets out at home plate. Jobert finishes LSU's batting by hitting a groundout to third base. (3-1 LSU)


B5 - Minnich kicks things off for A&M by striking out. Kaufer hits a single to third base, followed by Haas striking out. Moss hits a fly out to center field to complete this quick inning for A&M. (3-1 LSU)


T6 - Thompson bats a groundout to third base, followed by Kling striking out. Crews blasts a single to left center, but could not capitalize on it as Morgan grounds out to second base following. (3-1 LSU)


B6 - Griffin Herring is now pitching for LSU. Werner grounds out to third base, LaViolette grounds out to short stop. Finally, Thompson flies out to center field. (3-1 LSU)


T7 - Evan Aschenbeck is now pitching for Texas A&M. Travinski starts things off by striking out. Beloso hits a single to right field and advances to second base on a passed ball. Jones lines out to left field and Dugas pops one up to the short stop. (3-1 LSU)


B7 - Targac drew a walk, putting him on first base. Bost hit a double to left-center field, advancing Targac to third base. Minnich hit a fly ball to left-center field, resulting in a sacrifice fly, Targac scores at home. Kaufer also drew a walk, putting him on first base.


LSU made a pitching change, bringing in Sam Dutton.


Haas hit a powerful three-run homer to left field, increasing Texas A&M's score to 5 and putting LSU behind with a score of 3.


LSU made another pitching change, replacing Dutton with Javen Coleman.


Moss hit a single to center field, reaching first base. Werner followed with a single to left field, allowing Moss to advance to second base. LaViolette struck out, unable to reach base. Thompson drew a walk, loading the bases for LSU. Targac struck out, resulting in no runs scored. (5-3 A&M)


T8 - Jobert struck out, unable to reach base. Thompson popped up to first base, resulting in an out. Kling hit a single to center field and advanced to second base on a wild pitch. Crews struck out, ending the inning. (5-3 A&M)


B8 - Gavin Guidry took the mound for LSU as the new pitcher. Bost struck out, unable to make contact with the ball. Minnich hit a fly ball to center field, resulting in an out. Kaufer popped up to right field, ending the inning. (5-3 A&M)


T9 - Morgan hit a fly ball to center field, resulting in an out. Travinski hit a single to third base, successfully reaching first base. Beloso hit a double down the right field line, advancing Travinski to third base.


Josh Stevenson was brought in as a pinch runner for Beloso.


During the next pitch, a wild pitch occurred, allowing Travinski to score from third base and Stevenson to advance to third base. Jones drew a walk and Josh Pearson was brought in as a pinch runner for Jones. Dugas struck out, unable to make contact with the ball. Jobert fouled out to third base, resulting in an out.


The final score was Texas A&M 5, LSU 4.
