At Foley Field on Saturday, the Tigers suffered a 9-5 defeat against Georgia. As a result, the Tigers' (42-13 overall, 19-10 SEC) hopes of claiming the regular-season SEC title were dashed.

To secure the SEC, LSU not only needed to win in their game but also relied on Vanderbilt to win over Arkansas.

On Saturday, the Tigers stuck with the same lineup they had utilized the previous day, maintaining Dylan Crews as the leadoff batter, followed by Tommy White in the second position, Tre’ Morgan in the third and Hayden Travinski in the cleanup spot at fourth.

This is the Purple and Golds final loss of the regular season, but they did manage to win the overall series 2-1.

The Tigers began the game strongly, propelled by Tre’ Morgan's two-run home run in the first inning.

However, their offensive momentum dwindled as they only recorded five hits for the remainder of the game.

Their performance with runners on base was particularly rough, going 3 for 17, and they struggled further with runners in scoring position, going 0 for 10.

Javen Coleman was the starting pitcher for the Tigers, just as he was last Sunday versus Mississippi State.

Here are Colemans stats from tonight:

3 IP, 4 R, 3 K

Although the Tigers had some offensive consistency the games before, they could not capitalize on it to bring in the final win of the series.

Here's the scoring for LSU:

T1 - Morgan two run homer (2-0 LSU)

T6 - Beloso solo homer to center field (6-3 UGA)

T6 - Jobert steals home (6-4 UGA)

T7 - White solo homer to right field (7-5 UGA)

Whites home run puts him at 20 for the regular season.

Here's the scoring for UGA -

B2 - Harber scores after a single to first (2-1 LSU)

B2 - David scores after an error (2-2)

B3 - Tate solo homer to right field (3-2 UGA)

B4 - Murillo scores after a sacrifice fly (4-2 UGA)

B4 - Condon two-run homer to left field (6-2 UGA)

B6 - Anderson scores on a walk (7-4 UGA)

B7 - Tate scores after a fielders choice (8-5 UGA)
